ROYAL ATHLETICS

Welcome to Royal High School Athletics! We are extremely proud of our sports teams, our coaching staff and, especially, our student athletes. We compete in twenty sports and consistently produce athletes who graduate to competitive play in the NCAA. Royal High School has a rich tradition in high school sports competition and all our athletes adhere to the principles of Pursuing Victory with Honor. Our coaches and athletes also adhere to the Code of Ethics that calls on them to maintain quality character on and off the playing field.

Sports Try-outs

Try-out information for all sports will be announced in the

Morning Announcements and posted in our "Royal Decree"

NCAA Clearinghouse

Athletes who have applied to the NCAA Clearinghouse must have their official SAT/ACT scores submitted to the Eligibility Center directly from the College Board or ACT program. If you have any questions, see your counselor AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE

In order to participate in a sport, student athletes must first be cleared by the Athletic Director. Certain forms are required for clearance and the Athletic Director will check the student's grades for the last reporting period. Student athletes must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher, and not have more than one "U" in Citizenship or one "F" to be eligible to participate in a sport.

Both students and their parents should read the Athletic Handbook. When you sign the signature form included with the Sports Physical, you agree that you understand and will abide by the rules set forth in the Athletic Handbook.
